Self-Fulfilling Prophecy
Let me explain what self-fulfilling prophecy is. It is what happens when one's expectations of an event are met by making it likely to happen. I know only one person that has a self-fulfilling prophecy. I know him personally, too. This person is somewhat sensitive to rejection when talking to someone. I don't know when or why, but he started to expect social rejection. So he stopped talking to people. I'm worried about him. He does this everywhere, even at college. He might turn antisocial. But, really, I think he doesn't want to talk to people is because he is shy and quiet, not because he expects rejection. My advice to him is start talking again with a postive personality, or at least wait until someone says hello. I gave him the idea to wait until someone says something to him, like instead of him starting the conversation the other person is. It's easy for him because he is a little more social than before, though he claimed that he hasn't made friends; just acquaintances. But, like I said, he should begin talking again and start some conversations and not expect social rejection. He has admitted that he was shy and doesn't care if he had expected social rejection or not. But if he does not follow both of my advices, he will not have friends in life, or anyone to talk to. (He has friends; just not from anywhere else except school and church.) As of now, he is still doing his usual social skills: letting someone else start a conversation. He still hasn't made friends in college. But, hopefully, he will eventually. The reason I haven't mentioned the person's name is because that person.... is me.

My Golden Line
"Elaine Stein's words are running hot silver through my veins and I type as fast as I can. Turns out, it is a spectacularly long list." -- Miss Skeeter Chapter 6 p.84
I chose this line because it meant, to me, that when she got the letter from Elaine Stein, Miss Skeeter was so excited she went ahead and did her task "as fast as she can." But I also believe that the real reason I chose this was because this is what I would do when something like this happens to me in life. Recently, for example, I was asked in person if I can provide entertainment for a birthday party this October. By entertainment, they meant a music show. So when I got home, I rushed to set up a playlist of songs for the party via iTunes very fast and get the tablature and lyrics for the songs I didn't know by hard. That was the happiest day of my life because I have always loved to do a musical performance like this. As of now, I'm still practicing on my final version of the playlist and I cannot wait for the big performance I will be providing at the birthday party!

Being Distractedly Challenged
One self-regulated behavior that challenges me the most is being distracted. It challenges me most because I do not get enough time to finish my homework. Every time I want to finish my homework, I feel like I want to take a break after two hours of doing homework. Not only I want to take a break, but I also want to take a nap. Whenever I am in my break, I play video games, go on the computer and go on Facebook, Gmail, youtube, etc., or even watch television or a movie. Sometimes, while I am doing my homework, I text some of my friends. Also, whenever I have friends come over to my place, I either hang out with them (like going to see a movie, go to places, or eat lunch) or even play video games with them, all while I am still doing homework and/or on break. Another factor that plays a role in, at least, part of my break is listening to music while doing homework. In addition, I would have to configure which songs to play and listen while doing homework. Finally, while I'm still doing homework or even before I start/continue it, I have to do the house chores. Afterwards, I would get tired. This is why I am distractedly challenged...

My Reading History
When I was a young boy, I would read children's books, like "Green Eggs and Ham." I was into books like these until the day I became a sixth grader. In middle school, I started reading poems and stories (including short stories). Two of these books that I remember reading were "The Iliad" and The Odyssey," both written by Homer. When I started high school, I continued reading written works, including those by William Shakespeare and Edgar Allen Poe. The books I've read in high school were "The Raven" by Edgar Allen Poe, "Othello" and "Romeo & Juliet" (both are my favorite) by William Shakespeare, and "The Old Man and The Sea" by Ernest Hemingway. But the one book I remember reading, and this book really interested me with its suspense, was "Into the Wild" by John Krakauer. The book was about a man, named Chris McCandless, who died of starvation in Alaska when he decided to journey there. As of now, I'm still reading another book: the Holy Bible.
